NOTES: The club rounded up some players
and headed out to Huntington Beach to swing the
sticks in an AmCom "Toys for Tots" D level
tournament. Some new faces were on the team
including Steve Martin, and Derek Lorati's friend
Dean. Both proved to be solid additions to the ball
club. The tournament was rained out just after the
close of the 1pm game. A completion date might be
set for Dec. 8th.

GAME 1
|
|
at Big Richards
|
Loss
|
17-13
|
|
First game
jynx held strong in this matchup. Things
started off bad with pitched Joe Fernandez
being a no-show. Apparently a little
boozing the night before caused dude to
sleep in. We drug Show's little brother
Bryce (i.e. Show Lite) out from the stands
to give us 10 players. Things were pretty
close until the 5th inning where the Big
Richards were able to put an 8 spot on the
board. A couple defensive miscues helped
keep the inning alive, and pretty much
sealed it up for BR. We plated a couple in
the top of the 7th, but wound up taking
the loss. One of the keys to this game
were three over the fence outs due to the
homerun rule. OUCH.

GAME 2
|
|
at Road Warriors
|
Win
|
19-8
|
|
Game two
say the arrival of Joe Fernandez. Again,
the game was tight up until the 6th
inning. WE were able to plate 8 runs this
time, to take a nice 17-8 lead. The Road
Warriors didn't have much left, and wound
up putting zero runs across in both the
6th and 7th. Tim Wilson sparked the team
from the #10 hole going 4 for 4. He had
requested the switch after going a pittley
1 for 4 in game one as our lead-off
hitter.

|
|
GAME 3
|
|
at Jokers
|
Win
|
23-11
|
|
The
Weather started to get cold and fridgid
for this game. A lite drizzle and slight
breeze started things up. We were able to
plate five runs in the top half of the
first inning to take the early lead. As
the game wore on, the drizzle turned into
a harder rain, and the wind REALLY kicked
up. The Jokers battled back to take a 7-5
lead through four innings. The Cruisers
sticks came up big in the 5th as every
player but Lorati had at least one hit. We
plated 12 runs to take a nice 10 run lead.
The inning was highlighted by Dean's
inside the park, three-run home-run. We
plated 6 more in the top of the 6th, and
held on for the Mercy Rule win. The
tournament was called after this game, and
will be replayed on another day.
