Self Gloss:
I grew up playing Baseball and
Soccer back in the day. Both sports were pretty
good to me. I was able to travel quite a bit
because of that. I traveled to Engalnd to play
soccer and would have loved to stay and give it a
real shot, but it was to far from the family and I
had got injured pretty bad my Freshman year in
highschool. It was a progressive injury and it was
getting seriously worse. Can you say Bo Jackson?
Thet same deal just not quite as bad. After a few
MRI's Docs said you gotta slow down. So I did. Here
I am playing glorified rec softball.
Personal Notes:
Martin first came out to the
ballclub for a league night game in the Fall of
2001. Tim "SHOW" Wilson brought him out to the Yard
as a player who 'HAD BEEN OUT OF THE GAME' and was
trying to get back in. He dazzled with the stick,
and played some solid defense to quickly earn him a
spot on the team. However, after a few
dissapointing tournaments, he joined a team called
Ugly Rumors out of
Santa Maria. Steve did join the Coed Cruisers in
the Winter of 2002, and has stuck ever since. He
has helped lead the team a couple second place
finishes in Orange's Monday night league. He
currenlty runs a limo company down in Newport
Beach. He also loves to visit Mike "Meat" Rosenfeld
and talk about the 'good 'ol days'. He has never
met the real Steve Martin. It is unknown if he
enjoy's bowling. Although he spurrned the Cruisers'
men's team, he has been begging for a profile for
quite some time. "I just want a baseball card."
Steve joined the Elks lodge in 2004 with Jeremy
Roach. He quit, and then rejoined in 2006. He
finally signed on to play full time in 2006, and
went out to break his wrist in July. He came back
in Septemeber to help lead the team to some big
wins.
